Questo sito è dedicato a Ippolito Desideri S. J. (Pistoia 20.12.1684 – Rome 13.4.1733), author of a large company and exploratory first Western scholar of Tibet and Buddhism, dealt with in a report that still, at a distance of three centuries, has much to teach.
In honor of this pioneer and standard-bearer of dialogue and encounter between distant peoples and traditions, the site hosts and host not only his writings, or he uses, but also measures (relations, goods, imagery, news), published or unpublished, any way related to Tibet (or more generally Orient) e al buddhismo (or more generally to Eastern thought), with particular reference to the meeting between East and West.
